Ataraxia Partner with Dixon Commercial of St Albans

Ataraxia Broking Ltd has partnered with Dixon Commercial in August 2018 to put into place a long-term succession plan to preserve the independence of this strong local brokerage.
The business was jointly owned by Matt and Rita Hulse, a husband and wife partnership, and both were looking to put into place a long-term plan that could provide a method by which to pass succession down to their loyal team, whilst also giving Rita an opportunity to crystallise some value for her share of the business now.
The deal sees Matt staying with the business in his current capacity, and Ataraxia Broking Ltd replacing Rita in the ownership stakes. This is very much “phase one” of the deal structure, and there is a mechanism in place for “phase two”, which will see the management team being able to realise some value for their hard work.
The deal completed on 29th August, for an undisclosed amount, and gives Rita good value for her partial sale, and the comfort of knowing that a long-term plan is in place to give Matt a gradual route to retirement, at a pace to suit him.
